Have a real grasp on what it will take for you to have a comfort level and peace of mind, that will allow you, the student, to pursue your education, and get the most out of the experience and facility that you have chosen as the education institute of choice. The best way to be educated is to get it from the people who are currently doing what it is that you seek to be, with credentials and proven track records.
What is a school looking for in the application process?
One major component when talking with an admissions advisor is to let them know your passion, desire and what drives you to be the next ‘Hollywood Star' or that respected professional musician, if stardom is not your goal. Be prepared in English proficiency, especially if your pursuit is the Music Business, because you must be able to speak and read English well in order for receive the full benefit of the materials that will taught to you. If you are looking at studying in the United States, then be honest when indicating what your true level of speaking, writing and reading really are.
If I feel I have what it takes to be successful in the music business, how do I let the schools know?
If you are seeking to attend any music school you should be prepared to submit an audio recording of your talent. When applying to the various schools you will be directed as to just what should be covered on your recording. It is important that you begin like you wish to end - as a professional, take care of your business properly as a starting artist getting educated. And let that same attitude, direct you as a professional artist later on in life. Just remember to put yourself in the epicenter of creativity and social focus and learn to maximize your time and opportunities and be prepared when the ‘door of opportunity opens'. When that door opens you must be prepared to walk in.
