Zachary D. Greenwald on his time studying Spanish in Buenos Aires
There are some experiences in life that come and go which you remember, but never really reflect upon. Then there are other experiences that at moments will capture your attention and hold your thoughts while your mind replays those great memories. During these special times you wonder to yourself, was it all just a dream?
For me, my time studying Spanish in Latin America is one of those unforgettable lifelong lessons my building blocks that has allowed me to develop my professional, business and personal goals. The Latin American culture is a worldwide treasure that can be appreciated from all different backgrounds, portraying its diverse ethnicities stretching America from Alaska to Argentina.
A favorite destination when going to South America to study is its cultural capital, Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is an easily convenient, modern and accessible international city that has wonderful displays of food, soccer, wine, and world class entertainment.
It is known as a great, safe, and economical place for students to study Spanish, as well learn about the famous Argentine history in politics and business at its great schools and universities. The students after class can all meet up for a chat and practice their language skills at a local cafe espresso, or have a great lunch dining on world class Argentine meat. For desert, don't forget to try the famous caramel sweet, dulce de leche. They later can explore the famous Tango danced streets in La Boca, take a river boat tour on the Rio Tigre, and walk through the chiq neighborhoods that pass the largest Avenue in the world, 9 de Julio, while visiting some fascinating museums that show the life of Evita and other significant national leaders.
After studying hard, the students can take advantage of the fact that Buenos Aires is located in the southern part of the beautiful South American Continent, and is surrounded by views of nearby mountains, lush green fields, and white sanded beaches. It is also located in close proximity to neighboring country Uruguay, and from Buenos Aires, you can spend an excellent weekend there with just a quick boat ride across over the border. You don't have to leave Argentina to see other famous attractions; they would just have to head to the north of the country to check out awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls, which are the widest waterfalls in the world and are naturally separating Argentina from Paraguay and Brasil.
Buenos Aires, Argentina has much to offer the open minded, excited to learn and opportunistic traveler, and the single most impressive aspect of learning Spanish here vs. any other country is the same reason while the nice, fun loving Argentinean people are so loved. The locals and the language have a strong influential culture and beautiful Italian mix, and its one to fall in love with, over and over again.
Buenos Aires is waiting to show you all that it has to offer to give you a truly unforgettable learning experience. The city takes great pride in one of its most famous international figures, Che Guevara, and wants to show you how to live the significance of his quote, "If you let the world change you, you can change the world."
